Roofs, pews and organs
The roof of the cathedral and the nearby Tuttle House have been replaced and the pews have been repaired and finished with the wooden floors of the Cathedral.
While the roofers replaced the work, a Portland, Oregon-based company would protect the large church Schlicker Organ from the 1961 church by covering the instrument and removing certain pipes. When the equipment finishes construction, the organ will be cleaned and returned.
Many smaller projects in the cathedral are also underway, including landscaping improvements, rainwater management, accessibility, security, and the start of a preservation program to restore its 29 stained glass windows. , some of which date from the 1800s.
The improvements and repairs of the Cathedral are expected to be completed this June. The parish looks forward to returning to its regular service schedule after the end of construction and the lifting of pandemic restrictions.
